The objective of this guide focuses on the origins of the printing press in Ecuador, which arrived in Ambato in 1755 and was later replaced by the "Government Printing Press." Since 1876, it has been housed in the Museum of the "Juan Bautista Vázquez" High School.
By means of the historical method, primary sources and documents provide scientific support for the research and for each of the objects housed in the Museum. This has, in turn, allowed for new findings related to the history of the printing press, as well as of Azogues in the national context.
