This work is the materialization of the author’s emblematic academic contributions linked to law from an interdisciplinary perspective. It begins with a preliminary reflection in which the author portrays his connection to literature, expressing gratitude to the Catholic University of Cuenca. This is followed by a study note that summarizes the main theses of the chapters and provides readers with a clear framework.
The central section starts with a critical and detailed reflection on ethics in relation to the autonomous exercise of freedom within the context of justice and civility. The next paragraph offers an assessment of the significance of law in society, focusing on the cohesion among citizens, while addressing the feasibility and challenges of democratic engagement in the Ecuadorian context. This culminates in annotations about the conceptual meaning and significance of law.
The subsequent chapter examines life within the framework of law and how the state must protect this paramount good for individuals. It continues with a description linking legal certainty to the rule of law, and finally concludes with a conceptual clarification of humanity and human rights.
