The topic of impossible crimes or inadequate attempts is intriguing both for its content, rich terminology, and the perspectives by which it is addressed, as well as for the variety of methodologies for handling it. One of the most discussed aspects in current legal doctrine and in various legal systems regarding this penal institute focuses on its punishment. In this regard, this work presents the most important dogmatic positions on the subject, including national doctrine, addressing issues such as the inadequacy of means, inadequacy of object, and inadequacy of subject, from perspectives based on objectivist, subjectivist, and mixed theories, ultimately reaching conclusions that reflect a stance on the matter.
